A message from General Burnside signed by Asst. Adjt.-Gen. Lewis Richmond congratulating his men who captured Fort Macon:

See the pictures my husband, Jim, took at Fort Macon here.

Above General Order from the book by Edward C Mauran History of the Fifth Regiment of Rhode Island Heavy Artillery : during three years and a half of service in North Carolina : January 1862-June 1865, 1892.

This book was written by Edward C. Mauran, probably Edward Carrington Mauran, General Lewis Richmond's brother-in-law. This Mauran family, including Magdelaine Mauran, also has Richmond Family roots. In fact both Lewis Richmond and his wife, Magdelaine Mauran, are descended from Colonel Silvester Richmond, whose wife, Elizabeth Rogers, was a Mayflower descendant. Elizabeth Rogers was the great-granddaughter of Thomas Rogers and the granddaughter of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins.

Lineage of Magdelaine Mauran:

Magdelaine Mauran m. General Lewis Richmond
Joshua Mauran m. Abigail Winsor
Ira Winsor m. Patience Bullock
Jabez Bullock m. Mary Richmond [See Richmond entry below]
Peleg Richmond m. Mary Pierce
Silvester Richmond m. Elizabeth Rogers [This couple also the ancestors of Lewis Richmond]

More information about the Mauran family can be found online at HeritageQuest in the book by Stockbridge, John C. Memorials of the Mauran family, 1893.
