Richmonds & Powers In Oneida Co., New York

This is a "two-fer" for me; researching both the Richmond and Powers surnames (Rev. Isaac Perry Richmond & Adelaide V. Powers - see excerpt from J.B. Richmond book below). My Richmond line branches off from Rev. Isaac Perry Richmond's line after John(1) the original immigrant. My ancestor is Edward, son of John(1); Isaac's ancestor is John(2) son of John(1).

There is no discernible relationship between Adelaide V. (Powers) Richmond and my Powers family. However, Adelaide was a descendant of Walter & Trial (Shepherd) Powers, the same couple who were ancestors of my "double" cousin, the late Connie (Brinley) Butterfield.

Adelaide Powers' father was Philander Powers; her grandfather was Walter Powers.

More about the Powers family in Oneida County, New York (excerpt below):

1785 - David POWERS (1760-1843) married, 6 January 1785, at Bath, Grafton Co., New Hampshire, to Sarah PIKE. They had children: Walter POWERS m. Asenath FARMAN; Moses POWERS m. Ann --?--; Ezra POWERS; Asenath POWERS m. --?-- BRUSH; Rebekah POWERS; John POWERS; Sarah POWERS m. Mr. DIX; Susannah POWERS; Maria POWERS m. Mr. MASON - to Michigan; David POWERS - to Oregon; Charlotte POWERS m. Mr. WOOD; Caroline POWERS (1805-1859) m.1825 Harlow HINMAN; and Artemisse POWERS m. --?-- HINMAN. See Revolutionary War
Pension File #W.26324.

From the J. B. Richmond book:

Isaac Richmond's father was also named Isaac; a brief biography of Seth Richmond verified that information via this link:

The ancestors of Seth M. Richmond came from England and settled in Massachusetts, his father Isaac Richmond, having been born near Boston. His mother was Salona Perry, of Norton, Mass. They had eight children, six of whom were sons, as follows: Isaac, now living at Fulton, Oswego County, N.Y., at the age of ninety years; he was born at Augusta, Oneida county, N.Y., where all of the children were born, and where Isaac Richmond passed most of his life. Gardner, the next son, is deceased; Alvin, living in Little Falls at the age of eighty-six years, and a partner many years with his brother, Seth M., as described below; Nathan P., deceased; Parley, deceased; Phoebe married N. B. Cook, of Augusta, and living; Anna M., married W. E. Walton, of Munnsville, N.Y., and living; and Seth M., the subject of this sketch and a portrait, who was born at Augusta, on the 17th of May, 1818, between the birth of the two sisters mentioned.
History of Herkimer County, New York," by George A. Hardin, Syracuse, N.Y, D. Mason & Co., publishers, 1893.

Adelaide (Powers) Richmond was found in the 1850 & 1860 census below:

Powers, Philander, 51, NY
", Dotia, 48, NY

Adelaide is living with her husband in her parents' household in 1870:

", Theodosia, 58, NY
", Byron P., 30, NY [died ca 17 Mar 1879]

Richmond, Isaac Jr., 30, NY
", Adelaide, 25, NY [nee Powers]
", Ernest, 4, NY
Bonney, Rush, 25, NY

According to the J.B. Richmond book, Adelaide V. (Powers) Richmond died d. 25 June 1875; she is not in her father's household in 1880, nor enumerated with her husband in 1880.
