Joel Warren Richmond & Family

JOEL WARREN RICHMOND (8) (Amaziah 7, Amaziah 6, Amaziah 5, Ebenezer 4, Ebenezer 3, John 2, John 1) was born in Whitewater, Wis., January 20, 1857. He married at Pewaukee, Wis., October 12, 1881, Helen Naomi Clark. He was a graduate of the Normal School at Whitewater, and taught school a short time; then engaged in commission and grain brokerage business in Minneapolis, Minn., where he resided in 1896.

The Joel Warren Richmond family was in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota in the 1900 census.

The daughter of Joel Warren & Helen (Clark) Richmond, Mrs. Helen Ivah (Richmond) Jerome, wife of Albert C. Jerome, was in the DAR. In Hennepin County, Albert and Helen (who had been married 1 year) were living with Albert's brother, Waldron and two others in 1910. In 1920 Albert & Helen were still in Hennepin Co., MN, along with their daughter, Margaret (age 4) and their son, Waldron (age 3). In 1930 the same family group, Albert, Helen, Margaret and Waldron, were still living in Minneapolis.

In 1920, Hewitt W. Richmond was an officer in the U. S. Army at Fort Monroe, Elizabeth City County, Virginia. Living with him was his wife, Marguerite, who was born in England. They were also enumerated with Hewitt's parents in Hennepin Co., MN, in 1920.

Captain Hewitt W. Richmond died 8 January 1938 and was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. His father, Joel, who died 11 March 1939, was also buried there. Marguerite (Mrs. Hewitt Richmond), who died 15 December 1962, was also buried at Forest Hill.
