Jerome Richmond's Family In Michigan

JEROME RICHMOND (8) (Alexander 7, Sylvester 6, Edward 5, Benjamin 4, Edward 3, Edward 2, John 1) was born May 4, 1833. He married, July 5, 1854, Harriet E., daughter of Henry Wheaton*. She was born in Lockport, N.Y., April 16, 1823. He was a farmer in Henrietta, [Jackson Co.] Mich., in 1860.

In 1860, Phoebe [Coddington], age 10 and Almina, age 8, were also living with the family.

*The reference linked with "Henry Wheaton" stated that Harriet married 1st. William Coddington and had 4 children (Albert, Sarah, Edward & Phoebe).

In the 1870 MI Jackson census Jerome & Harriet (Wheaton) Richmond were living next door to Harriet's brother Henry. Some details of Henry Wheaton's trip to northern Michigan in 1846, were kept in a notebook that was published.

Jerome's wife, Harriet (Wheaton) Richmond, died in 1875. Jerome married 2nd, Millie Ferguson, on November 9, 1976, in Jackson, Michigan. Nellie Richmond, daughter of Jerome & Millie, b. 1879, married Wirt W. Ries on 19 July 1897.

Jerome was the son of Alexander & Harriet (Field) Richmond. Alexander died 20 Apr 1843; Harriet married 2nd Elias Converse. The Converse family, including Jerome Richmond, were living in Oakland Co., Michigan, in 1850. Elias & Harriet Converse were in Livingston Co., Michigan, in 1860 and 1870. Elias Converse died in 1874.
