#3200. Martha Richmond 7 (Braddock 6, Benjamin5, Perez 4, Silvester 3, Edward 2 , John 1). Her mother was Mrs. Ruth (Sheffield) Taylor of Rhode Island. They removed to Tennessee, thence to Tremont, Ill.

He [Joseph A. Sawyer] was united in marriage to Martha S. Richmond Dec. 31, 1835, at Tremont. She was born in the State of Rhode Island and was the daughter of Braddock Richmond. They became the parents of two sons and two daughters. Edward S. entered the military service of the United States during the Civil War and enlisted in the Ninth Ill. Cav. Emma E. is the widow of Lewis W. Hanna, a son of Prior Hanna ,one of the pioneer settlers of the county and whose name is given in one of its townships. A sketch of Mr Hanna may be found on other pages Mrs Hanna lives at Peabody, Kan. Louisa is engaged in the prosecution of a book music and stationery business at Greeley, Col. Albert, who is the third in order of birth, was also a soldier and belonged to the 146th Ill. Inf. The mother died Jan 25, 1849. [Source]
