Information from the Krafft Family Organization:

Josiah Richmond was born say 1753 at possibly, Middleboro, Massachusetts. He was the son of George Richmond and Hannah Caswell.

The first known record of this farm (William H. and Charlotte (Gillette) Strever Homestead) located about one mile northeast of Chatham, N.Y. was in the late 1700's. Records show it was owned and lived in by Josiah Richmond and wife Mary Hall. They were married Nov. 7, 1782 and it can be assumed they lived there from that time on; at least their children, Simeon, George, Elizabeth, George (2nd), Tessie, Mary, and Matilda were born there.
