Josiah Richmond & His 5 Wives


 3740. JOSIAH RICHMOND (8), (Edward 7, Josiah 6, Josiah 5, Josiah 4, Edward 3, John 2, John 1) was born June 26, 1803.  He married, first, in Roxbury, O., July, 1824, Permelia Chedle*.  She was born in Vermont, and died September, 1827.  He married, secondly, January, 1828, Eleanor Duderas**, who was born in Maryland, and died March, 1832; thirdly, August 12, 1832, Elizabeth Crow, who died March 21, 1845; fourthly, November, 1845, Margaret Cochrane, from whom he was divorced September, 1858.  He married, fifthly, September 12, 1858, Catherine Underhill***.  They removed to Evansburgh, O., in 1849 or 1850.

6640.  Melissa Crippin (9), married, 1st, Stephen S. Stephens; 2d, Henry G. Jordan.
6641.  Daughter, died in infancy.

CHILDREN BY SECOND MARRIAGE:

6642.  Rhoda (9), died aged nine months.
6643.  Josiah (9), died aged nine weeks.

CHILDREN BY THIRD MARRIAGE:

6644.  Rebecca Ann (9), married Charles Bice.  They had two daughters (1860).
6645.  John (9), married Lucinda Jordan.  They had a daughter and son (1860).
6646.  Eleanor (9), died aged nineteen years.
6647.  Elizabeth (9), died aged six weeks.
6648.  Martha Jane (9), died aged four years.
6649.  Hannah (9), died aged nine months.

Sill, age 16, and John Sill, age 14, both born in Indiana,  Mary C. Cochrane, age 5, born in Indiana, and Allen Underhill, age 20, born in Indiana, were living in the same household.

Josiah Richmond and family may have been living in Coshocton, Ohio, in 1850.

There was a marriage between a John Underhill and Catherine Hedrick in 1823 in Wayne Co., Indiana, according to this message.  Catherine married  Peter Sell on 7 Sept 1843.

Andrew Sell sold property to Henry Jordan in Kosciusko County, Indiana.  Henry Jordan was Josiah Richmond's son-in-law.  Peter and Katherine Sell transferred property back and forth circa 1846/47 in Kosciusko County.

BIOGRAPHY
John Sell, son of Peter and Catharine Sell, was born in Kosciusko County, Ind., September
27, 1846.  His father was born and reared in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Virginia and removed with her parents to the southern part of this State when quite young.  She was married twice; the first time to John Underhill and subseqently to Peter Sell in Kosciusko County.  Here she was again bereft of her husband in 1857.  She subsequently removed to this county, where she deceased in 1877.
