Probate Documents - Miss Mary More of Lapeer Co.

Mary More, born 29 December 1866, Lapeer County, Michigan and died 30 August 1889 in the same place. Her father, James More, immigrated to New York from Scotland. He met and married Cynthia Richmond of Livingston County, New York. James & Cynthia (Richmond) More moved to Lapeer County ca 1853 along with Cynthia's parents, Thomas & Laura (Backus) Richmond and her (Cynthia's) siblings, Almina (Mrs. Thomas Langworthy) and Emory Richmond.

The youngest of six children, Mary died at the age of 22, unmarried and childless. The genealogical periodical, Lapeer Legacy, noted her death as follows:

Her death notice in the Lapeer Democrat newspaper dated 11 September 1889, listed the following:

Died August 30, 1889, at home of mother. Member of Lone Pine Association. P of I.
